![]() At THREE RIVERS DENTAL GROUP, our modern state of the art equipment and our professional dental team provide a soothing environment for an extraordinary dental experience. We offer a variety of relaxation options to make your visit a pleasant one. Sedation dentistry is a revolutionary way to accomplish your dental treatments with little or no discomfort. If you are like the millions of Americans who neglect their dental health due to fear, or hate the sights, sounds and smells of the dental office, or are simply pressed for time, sedation dentistry can allow you to accomplish the work of up to 5 dental visits in a single appointment. We invite you to come and experience, firsthand, the superior dental care that keeps our patients coming back. Relaxation or anesthesia services offer a progressive level of sedation from very mild to fully asleep. Your doctor will help you decide which option is best for you and your treatment. Nitrous Oxide for the slightly apprehensive. “Laughing gas” is a mild sedative, by inhaling a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen you can achieve a pleasant, “tingling” sensation. Patients often listen to relaxing music with this method. You will remain aware of your surroundings at all times. No escort is required. Oral Sedation for the mildly apprehensive. Your doctor will prescribe a sedative pill to take before the appointment. Oral sedation will make you drowsy, and slightly less focused on your surroundings, but will not put you to sleep. An escort is required. Nitrous Oxide and Oral Sedation for the moderately apprehensive. Combining laughing gas and an oral sedative will achieve a more-drowsy, less conscious state, and decreased awareness of your surroundings. This technique will not put you to sleep. An escort is required. Anesthesia/Intravenous Sedation for the very apprehensive. A board certified anesthesiologist will administer I.V. sedation. Unlike the other options, I.V. sedation will put you to sleep. You will have little or no memory of the appointment, and not be aware of your surroundings. No sights! No sounds! No fears!sm Recovery is rapid and most patients are sent home quickly after the appointment. An escort is required. This technique is ideal for those who are afraid of dentistry, have a difficult time getting numb, gag easily, or prefer to have all your dental treatment done in one visit, rather than four or five. It is also perfect for disabled patients and other conditions that make it difficult to get dental treatment for our loved ones.
